Climate Adaptation Finance



The Climate Adaptation Finance Short Course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to understand, access, and manage financial resources that support climate adaptation initiatives. It focuses on equipping learners with practical tools to develop strategies that respond to the economic and environmental challenges posed by climate change.


This program is tailored for professionals, policymakers, students, and community leaders who seek to play an active role in sustainable development and climate resilience. It reflects the Zambia Catholic University’s commitment to addressing global challenges through education, research, and capacity building.


The overall educational aims of the Climate Adaptation Finance Short Course in relation to Academia, Industry, and Societal needs are as follows:

  • To develop participants’ understanding of climate change impacts and the financial mechanisms available to support adaptation strategies.
  • To equip learners with skills to design, evaluate, and manage projects that attract funding from international, regional, and local climate finance sources.
  • To foster the ability to integrate financial planning with environmental sustainability, ensuring that adaptation initiatives are both effective and economically viable.
  • To instill values of accountability, transparency, and ethical responsibility in the management of climate finance.

By completing the Climate Adaptation Finance Short Course, participants will be well-positioned to contribute to climate resilience efforts at community, national, and international levels. The course empowers individuals to bridge the gap between financial systems and environmental sustainability, driving meaningful change in the fight against climate change.
