The Disaster Risk Management Short Course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. It emphasizes proactive strategies that reduce vulnerability, strengthen resilience, and safeguard communities against both natural and human-made hazards.

The overall educational aims of the Disaster Risk Management Short Course in relation to Academia, Industry, and Societal needs are as follows:

  • To develop participants’ knowledge of disaster risk reduction frameworks, policies, and practices at local, national, and global levels.
  • To equip learners with practical skills in risk assessment, hazard mapping, emergency planning, and crisis management.
  • To foster critical thinking and problem-solving approaches that enhance resilience and effective disaster response.

By completing the Disaster Risk Management Short Course, participants will be prepared to design, implement, and evaluate disaster risk strategies that contribute to safer and more resilient communities.
