The General Chemical Safety Short Course is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills for the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals. It emphasizes hazard awareness, risk management, and preventive practices to ensure health, safety, and environmental protection in workplaces, laboratories, and communities.


This program is ideal for students, laboratory technicians, industry workers, and professionals who work with or around chemicals. It reflects the Zambia Catholic University’s commitment to promoting safety, compliance, and sustainable practices in line with global health and environmental standards.


The overall educational aims of the General Chemical Safety Short Course in relation to Academia, Industry, and Societal needs are as follows:

  • To develop participants’ understanding of chemical properties, hazards, and safety protocols.
  • To equip learners with practical skills in chemical risk assessment, emergency response, and protective equipment usage.
  • To foster a culture of safety, responsibility, and environmental stewardship in chemical-related activities.
