Human resource is a critical factor in the running and success of an organization.  Over the years the landscape in human resource management has changed considerably with the pendulum tilting towards inter-disciplinary approach in order for human resource practitioners to respond to the demands of the market.

The overall educational aims of the Human Resource Management Degree of The Zambia Catholic University respond to the academic, industrial, professional and Societal needs through the following aims;

• A better understanding of the business environment and challenges faced by organizations which includes Human Capital Management.
• Provide an insight of work-life balance in relation to productivity.
• Appreciate the importance of effective human resource management in an organization and prepare them to defend human capital initiatives in the boardroom and raise the strategic levels within organizations.
• Master the knowledge, competencies and skills required to plan for and manage human resource in the current turbulent and changing environment of organizations; .
• Manage human resource using the latest techniques and developments in the field of Human Resource Management.
